  • [es-pree de less-ka/-iay] (idiom) A witty remark that occurs to you too late, literally on the way down the stairs. The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations defines esprit de l'escalier as, "An untranslatable phrase, the meaning of which is that one only thinks on one's way downstairs of the smart retort one might have made in the drawing room."

glad to hear that all is well and looking forward to your return. enjoy summer! and pies! and whatever else floats your boat! megxx

Monkey monkey monkey. I want to bury my face in his tummy.

Fabulous hanging at chez Jennings, as always. It was what each of us needed.

I am now in the process of creating my Manga. Did yours look like you or did you toy with some things? After failing miserable to create my Wii player, I just shot the moon and created a player that looked like Jonah Hill from Superbad. I had just come from watching it at the Brew and View and was quite drunk. Somehow people were more lenient to my tennis ineptitudes because I was the fat kid in gym class.

Oh yes - I didn't follow the hyperlink. It does look like you!

Unseasonable weather indeed! I heard them mention the fact that Chicago weather was going to be "delightful"!!! How often do you hear Chicago weather described as "delightful"!?!?? And mid-August no less!!!

Enjoy your break, Claire!

Oh, that sounds like such a wonderful weekend. *sends hugs to you all in absentia* I miss you guys.

The weather here has also been unseasonably cool and gorgeous. It's a bit chilly at night when I go to the pool, but otherwise I am definitely not complaining.

Love!

Oh, and I did the manga thing. I don't think they really look like manga at all, but it is a pretty good likeness.
